This post is dedicated to my "brother", Parker. I can't believe it, but he is in Heaven, bowing at the feet of Jesus and rejoicing with the angels. It all seems like such a blur and for the past day, I keep thinking it's going to all be a dream, but it becomes more and more real, with each decision that we have to make.
Most of you readers know Parker, and you know how close our family was with his. I can't remember a time in my life when Chuck, Buckley, Parker and Nick were not around! They have always been there. Parker and Tom were in the same class, on the same ball team, always running in and out of the house with mud covering them from head to toe and as they got older inseperable with all the joys that come with sports, hunting and girls. Our family has shared it all with the Graves' family. Family vacations, camping trips, weddings, and babies. Chuck is like a second Dad to me and his boys are like my brothers!
Parker was a killed in Memphis on Monday morning after dropping his 3 year old little girl off at school. We are all in mourning and are all walking around aimlessly just staring at each other in disbelief.
I know that he is in a better place, but we all still hurt. Thank you for your prayers for his mom, dad, brothers, wife, Jill, and daughter, Lillian. I can tell you that it is only by God's grace that any of us are standing. From our family, my brother will be the one most effected. He and Parker see each other EVERY day. I can't imagine! Tom will need strength that can only come from God Almighty!
We never know when we are going to take our final breath. What comfort I have knowing that Parker is with Jesus. Right now, it is what I am clinging too!
We are busy going back and forth to Tunica this week. The funeral will be Thursday and family from all over are getting here slowly. Lilly is bringing smiles to some sad faces, along with the rest of the little ones. The babies are keeping everyone entertained!
After this week, I will have some great pictures to post from our wonderful weekend at the MSU football game!
Love you all,
