The Graduate, Yard Work and Ice Chips

So, Sunday after church we are taking pictures with Cooper and Leslie, because they are the graduates, but of course our Betsy wants a picture with Lilly and her words were...."Whitty, this better make the blog, I have not been on it in a long time." So here you go...BETSY AND LILLY! My Cooper, graduated from Magnolia Heights this week. I talk a lot about Betsy, his younger sister, but Coop is very special too. My first time to start keeping the Battle children was when Cooper was just 5 months old. I was 15 and it was Super Bowl Sunday, I was so excited to be able to keep he and his older brother, by 18 months, Houston! I can't believe that 18 years have come and gone. Coop and I have been through a lot together, and I am so proud of him. He has turned into an awesome young man. He loves me and my family and he is not afraid to show it. That always makes me so good! The picture below is of Coop and Lilly after church on Sunday!
We also love Cooper's girlfriend, Leslie! She is too great! Lilly loves her so much too and she really loved those tassles on Sunday!!

Lilly has taken a very strong liking to "ice chips". My mom let me know that she liked them, but I really had no idea just how much. She was being a little fussy last night, so I remembered mom telling me about them. I just grabbed a cup put some crushed ice in it and handed it to her. She was like a new baby. She ran around the house eating those ice chips out of that cup, like it was the best thing she had ever tasted. I thought it was so cute, how she would find certain places to plop down and enjoy them! Here she is enjoying them on the stairs.
She just loves digging down in that cup to get her some "chips". She is very persistent when it comes to her ice chips!!
Here she is grinning from ear to ear, because she has her ice chips in tow!!

The Atwood house has been going under some heavy duty yard maintenance for the past few days. Brian rented this lovely piece of machinery to dig up almost every plant, tree and flower bed that we have. We are at the point where we just needed to dig it all up and start over and that is just what we did!! He worked for about 3 days straight getting it all taken out, so now the process of what to do now begins!

Along with the digging up of all the flower beds, Brian also decided that the deck needed to be taken out as well. It was rotted on one end, so he said it all needed to go. I do think that he had a little fun with his rented "toy" demolishing that deck. As you can see the demo was successful. Let's just hope that I can post some pictures of the new deck before the year 2020!!

I am so thankful that by my next post will be from a teacher who is out for the summer! It can't get here soon enough. I am so very ready to have my days to spend with Lilly. We are going to have a great time together and I can't wait to blog all about it!!
